Little Red Riding Hood: A Timberdoodle Review

This is a product review of the game Little Red Riding Hood offered by Timberdoodle. We love Timberdoodle and rave about them so much that sometimes we get products for cheap or free to review. All opinions are my own.

Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf are off to Grandma’s house each needing to forge a path. With this game from Smart Games, offered through Timberdoodle, kids are challenged to use their spatial reasoning to add path pieces, curving around trees, to get to their destination.

First of all, how adorable is this game?

The set includes the puzzle / solution book, multiple path tiles, three trees, Grandma’s digs, a Red Riding Hood pawn, a Wolf pawn, and a sweet wordless comic book (happily devoid of any serious violence  — we all know how that fable can go sometimes, so that was nice to see).

To watch this game in action, here’s a video of us playing and a good look at the storybook inside.

We really love this little set. We love that it suits multiple ages. We love that the bright colors and simplicity of design basically beg for it to be touched. I love that it helps build spatial concepts and problem-solving skills. It’s easy to set up, can be played over and over again, has varying levels of difficulty, is self-checking, and comes with a bonus storybook — what is not to love?
