Gravitrax a Timberdoodle Review

Of all of the many, many things I’ve reviewed thus far, Gravitrax is my favorite. If you’re looking for a great educational gift that doubles as a super fun and creative toy — look no further than Gravitrax — a unique marble run construction set. Seriously, where has it been all my life? We’ve tried many different marble run kits from wooden high-end to the cheapest of cheap plastic sets. Those never seem to get a lot of love from our family and interest quickly wanes. But Gravitrax is different.

At first, opening it, I was honestly a little intimidated. I’m not always great with building toys. I’m bad with complicated (or straightforward sometimes haha) directions. There’s a lot of pieces inside. Thankfully though, this toy can be as open-ended or strict to-the-rule as the heart desires. For the type As & mechanical minds of the world, there’s step by step instructions for constructing a variety of configurations. For the rest of us, you can trial and error your way through. Cause and effect largely guided us through building a large multi-level run complete with tricks and crashes. It was awesome. My kids were supremely entertained and so proud of their creation.

Meanwhile I was impressed by how the cardboard base contained the marbles from rolling off the table. This is super for those of us with toddlers whose favorite pastimes involve noshing on tiny choking hazards.

I love this toy. Remember that jewelry commercial back in the day with the dude proposing to his lady by screaming, “I love this woman!” and birds take off because he’s being uber obnoxious? That’s me but sub out Gravitrax*. I think it’s the bee’s knees, and I’m so happy we got to review it.

*If you don’t know what I’m talking about but read to this point anyway, thank you loyal reader. You are an awesome & undervalued rock star of the blogging community.

Yes I definitely recommend this toy. A resounding yes. Five out of five stars. It is a wonderful learning activity for your homeschool or classroom. It’d make a fabulous gift for anyone elementary-aged and older: I enjoyed playing with it just as much as the kids. You can find this and so much more at Timberdoodle. It’s part of their 3rd grade curriculum kit too.
